Jay brings over 15 years of employee benefits experience to his role as Senior Managing Partner of Capital Group Benefits. Jay’s credentials include a very impressive commitment to state and national health organizations including the following:
- Northern Va Chapter President in 2010 – 2011
- Current Member of NAHU
- Former Member of Advisory board committee for American Medical Security
- Past Chairman of Health Underwriters Political Action Committee (HUPAC)
- CE Certified Training for HSA/HRA (providing training for many national companies including AFLAC, Colonial, and Blue Cross Blue Shield)
Actively involved with members of Congress regarding HSA/HRA legislation, Jay is a leader in the installation of HSA accounts in both the group and individual markets. He is an active consultant with numerous CPA firms and their clients, fielding questions about the emergence of HSAs and HRAs and the impact they can have both on the market and employer. Jay believes companies can be both “pro employee” and “pro bottom line” when designing employee benefits.
Originally from the surrounding Boston area, Jay resides in Gainesville with his wife and five children.
Katie Harvey joined the Capital Group Benefits team in 2006 and as of 2016 has been made partner with the firm! Katie knows every angle of the business because she started as the New Business Coordinator and Office Manager over ten years ago. Her level of professionalism, product knowledge and work ethic has helped the growth of CGB!
Katie and her husband, Darren, have four children and reside in Haymarket, VA. While away from her desk, Katie enjoys shopping, being outdoors, and hanging out with her family.
Mark began working in the employee benefits arena in 1991. He worked for Kaiser Permanente starting in sales and ending as the Central Eastern Sales Manager in 2000. During that time he gained valuable experience in small group health reform during the Clinton administration and was actively involved with the integration of a local Humana Health Plan. Currently on Aetna and Kaiser Permanente broker advisory boards he enjoys working with carriers as they bring new products to market. Mark joined the Capital Group Benefits team as a Managing Partner in September 2013 – sharing the goal of bringing comprehensive analysis and constructive guidance to all clients regardless of size or location.

Originally from northwest Pennsylvania, Mark resides in with his wife, Calista, in Fairfax. In his rare off hours, he enjoys boating, golf, and spending quality time with his family (which includes his newest grandson, Brady!).
Darren joined Capital Group Benefits in 2015 as an outside sales member. Darren brings over ten years of sales experience to our team and provides an excellent level of customer service to everyone he meets. Darren is active in chambers, BNI’s and other networking events to help grow our business and service the needs of our clients. Outside of the normal work day, Darren can be found throwing a football with his son or playing make-believe with his three girls.
Chris Erickson has been a member of Capital Group Benefits staff since February 2009. She brings over 15 years experience in administration, training and management skills which is crucial in the insurance industry. Her enthusiasm and ability to handle our client needs and service issues conforms to our company philosophy and customer service standards. She understands the essence of good customer service is forming relationships with our clients.
In her spare time, Chris enjoys spending quality time with her friends, family and volunteering for non-profit organizations. Chris and her husband Dale reside in Gainesville.
Since joining our team Jenna has completed three years of college course work and is pursuing a business management degree at George Mason University. Jenna is on track to graduate with highest Mason honors in the winter of 2017. As a licensed broker she provides support to CGB’s clients and prospects by running quotes, analyzing plan options, presentation development and on site support. She is one of our rising stars and has a true passion for the business as a whole.
